Inside the pottery studio

After working a highly stressful management role since arriving in Australia 10 or so years ago. Kim Drew decided to do what so many of us wish we could, she quit her job and followed her passion for pottery – now Kim works in a pottery studio, making her own unique designs and teaching pottery classes. These photos explore a day at “Studio Made” Pottery Studio in Geelong, Victoria. The photo series includes a behind the scenes look in the pottery studio including a final shot of a finished product, complete with sandwiches – YUM. Kim has a unique style that she describes as a bit of everything, forget clean lines and smooth edges, the beauty in Kim’s work is in her textured and colourful materials.

A mixture of tools all synonymous with the craft; brushes, spoons, rolling pins and a wall with glaze colours.  

Close up Shot – Contrast has been altered utilising iPhone editing software. Increased by 15%. This is to increase the colour brightness
